How to Build Buzz!

You’ve created the content and your app has been built...so what’s next? For the next four weeks, you will focus on building buzz! You need to utilize every possible aspect of  your social media presence to advertise your new app. It’s time to create anticipation and excitement among your followers. Believe it or not, the way you launch your app can be the key to long term success.

To begin, start with subtle Instagram story posts. Tease the fact that you’ve been working on a new project.  Post a countdown timer without any explanation. Your main goal at this time is to create mystery and intrigue. At this point, you are now three weeks out and it’s time to create a “Coming Soon” web page and advertise this new page on your social media. At two weeks out, begin posting teaser screenshots of the app.  You can even release behind the scenes videos and pictures as well as create a catchy hashtag for your app. Drop as many hints as possible, create hype, but make sure there is some exciting information you reserve for the actual app launch.

One week before the app launch, you will officially announce your app by going live on Instagram with a Breakthrough partner! During this live, you will explain what type of content can be expected on your app and do a Q and A with your followers. Demonstrate how passionate you are and express to your fans how hard you’ve worked to create this app for them. Post this live to your Instagram as an IGTV. This is also the time to announce a promo for founding members.  Think of this promo as an early bird special! Announce that the first 50 members to sign up for a lifetime membership will get it half off. This will motivate your followers to pull the trigger and officially sign up for your app.

In those final few days before app launch, post as much as possible. Utilize reels, the emoji slider sticker, polls, and questions. Screen record yourself navigating the app in order to really give your followers a true sneak peek. This is a great time to team up with other influencers and to hit up your friends and family to promote the app. Your goal is to make sure every single one of your followers is aware of your app launch because your followers will become your paying subscribers. They are essential to your growth and success.

The day your app launches, post the app link in your bio and go live on Instagram again.  If you have a following on Tik Tok or Facebook, go live on those platforms as well. Hype it up as much as possible! On this day, you might feel nervous or anxious.  Imposter syndrome might be out to get you. This is all normal! Remind yourself how hard you have worked to create this app. It’s time to show it off!
